End of March Update

I guess March will not exactly be going out "like a lamb"... but we know warmer weather is coming! Even though it’s getting a little warmer outside, it’s important to send your child in with warm clothes for recess. Also, with the mud coming it is nice to have dry, clean shoes to protect our clean sitting area.

We have received some Butterfly Place permission forms… they are due this Thursday (3/30).  I will let chaperones know by the first of next week who is coming, in case we have received too many requests.  Remember there is always the field trip to the North End on May 26!!

We had fun on Friday celebrating the end of our Math unit on Geometry. Here is a picture- I will make the rest into a slide show! We have begun our BIG 2nd grade topic- 3-digit addition and subtraction!

I hope you are finding people to send your Flat Stanley project to… if you need ideas please let me know! Students have become very creative in the past…  Meanwhile we are using research skills to find out about our world.

Finally, we have lots of things growing in our classroom- the plants are going wild, and the chrysalids are quietly and secretly getting ready to emerge as butterflies!

I welcome anyone who would like to help with planting in our gardens- we will be putting the cool weather crops into the ground outside any day now!

I welcome your feedback, and appreciate all of your support and encouragement.  We look forward to sharing our work in our Open House on May 19, at 8:30 am.  Make sure this is on your calendar!

Peace-
Ms. Niles
